All points taken and make sense. When our children are young, we as parents do whatever we do in the best interest of the child. The true effects of our overbearing nature (or lack of) is perceived differently by our children when they become adults and look back at their upbringing. My hope is not even that they will appreciate our efforts and behavior, but I think it is enough if they turn out to be well-rounded individuals.
